It's good to see you here in the Community, @jen-chaleffandro.

Let's get rid of the NY Metropolitan Commuter Transportation Mobility Tax (MCTMT) error message so you can process payroll.

One of the possible reasons why you get the error message is that your MCTMT isn't set up. If your business is located in the MCTMT taxing district, you should select the MCTMT tax for each of your employees, even if your rate is 0%. This way, you can proceed with running payroll. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.
  2. Click the Gear icon, then select Payroll settings.
  3. Under the Taxes section, click the State Taxes - NY.
  4. In the NY Metropolitan Commuter Transportation Mobility Tax Rates section, click Change or add new rate.
  5. Enter 0.00% rate, then click OK.

Once done, you can process payroll without the error. For more guidance, feel free to check out this article: How do I create a paycheck for an employee?

You might want to run payroll reports in QuickBooks Online. This will help you view useful information about your business and employees.

Should you need any additional assistance processing payroll. I'll be sure to get back to you, @jen-chaleffandro.
