How can i set the geofence for time tracking, so that when i clock in, if i leave the area it will clock me out?

If you're referring to geofencing with QuickBooks Time, when an employee leaves a geofence area you'll receive a notification saying Left job location.

 

This notice can be selected, then you'll see 2 or 3 tracking options:
 

  • Take Break
  • Clock Out
  • Switch

 

Using the Clock Out option will clock a team member out. They may need to click View Details to fill out any required fields before clocking out.

 

Here's how to set up geofencing:
 

  1. Turn your geofencing setting on.
  2. In QuickBooks Time, go to Jobs or Customers, then hit Edit for the job/customer you need to add a geofence to.
  3. Access your Location section and type in an address or latitude/longitude coordinates.
  4. A location icon will appear next to the address once it's successfully added and recognized by Google as an address. As you type, pick from your suggestions that populate to confirm it's a recognized address.
  5. If necessary, adjust the radius size for your geofence. The default and minimum radius size is 100 meters, and can go up to 1000 meters.
