Contactor changed banks and gave me a new routing and account number.  The direct deposit was debited from my payroll account but she says she did not receive it

Let me share some information on when direct deposit (DD) is posted to your contractor's bank account, TMG_JB.

Your direct deposit lead time depends on what payroll product you use. If you are using QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll, you can have Same-day or Next-day direct deposit. In some instances, you might be on a 5-day direct deposit lead time. You can also view or change your direct deposit funding time. For more details about this one, check out this article: When to send your direct deposit payroll. The article provided is the same one with paying your contractors.

Just in case you need to fix a contractor payment, just cancel or void direct deposit payments after they’re submitted. You can refer to this article for the steps and details: Void or cancel contractor payments.

If you don't receive any updates, I'd suggest contacting our Customer Support Team. They'll trace the DD transactions and they'll provide some information on what happened. Here’s how to get in touch with our representatives:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Click the ? Help button at the top right corner.
  3. Go to the Search tab, then select Contact Us.
  4. Enter a brief discussion about your concern, then click Continue.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us.

Please check out our support hours to ensure that we can address your concerns on time. Let me also share these articles in case you need more information and guidance when paying contractors in QBO:
