How do I change the bank account linked to payroll direct deposit? I have followed all of the instructions, but the payroll remains linked to our old account.

Hi there, @deborah33. We understand how frustrating it can be when things don't go as planned. Please know that we're here to help and will do everything we can to make things right for you.

Just to make sure, did you receive any error message when changing your bank account? When changing the payroll bank account ensure that the old account has no pending tax payments or payroll transactions.

Once you're ready, follow the steps.

  1. Click Settings ⚙, and then choose Payroll Settings.
  2. From Bank Accounts, tap Edit ✎.
  3. Hit Update.
  4. Select Add new bank account.
  5. Search your bank name. You may be asked to enter your online banking user ID and password. Otherwise, select Enter bank info manually. Enter your routing and account number, then select Save.
  6. Hit Accept and Submit.

Please check this article for more details on changing your bank account for payroll: Change your payroll bank account.

Yes, as I said, I have followed all of the steps. I do not have pending payroll or tax payments. When I click on settings, the new bank account displays that it is connected to payroll. Yet when I try to create a payroll check, it still displays the previous bank account (which, by the way, is incorrect. Somehow, as of 11/1/2023 our bank connection changed the name of the account, so all of the payroll items including tax payments are now posting to an unlinked account without giving me the ability to change them.)
