I can guide you through the steps, @stevenschall814-.

Let's go to your payroll settings to see it. Here's how:

  1. Go to Gear.
  2. Select Payroll settings.
  3. Under Preferences, tap Accounting.
  4. In the Bank Account Checking Account section, choose the correct account from the drop-down.
  5. Click OK.

With the above steps, you're able to change your checkbooks account. More details about payroll settings are found in this article: Payroll accounting preferences.

Your instructions were great.  Thank you!

I want to go back to November and use 2 pay periods to draw from the correct account.  I noticed on the accounting reference section at the bottom of the page a way to do so.  (want to update existing transactions).

When I go back to November and apply the changes, it's not changing anything.  Any pointers?

I appreciate you for following instructions provided to you, @stevenschall814-.

I would like to share some insights regarding your concern. What I can suggest you is to delete the paycheck and update and recreate paycheck.

You may be able to erase the paycheck depending on your processing time.

  1. Navigate to Expenses.
  2. Select Filter from the Expenses tab.
  3. Select Check in the Type field.
  4. Apply the date period in which the cheque was received.
  5. To open the Check screen, select the check to invalidate from the Expense Transactions list.
  6. Choose More, then Void from the drop-down option.
  7. Select Yes to confirm you want to void the check when prompted.

You can start updating your paycheck preferences after the process done.
