I am trying to change my payroll date to every other THURSDAY instead of every other FRIDAY. I can't seem to find out how to do this, no matter how much I search online. Can anyone help? (The instructions I did find did not point me to anything that actually worked!)

Hello there, hopestreetrestor.

Yes, you can change the payroll schedule in QuickBooks Online (QBO). There are two different ways on how to do that, varies on the payroll subscription you're using. If you're using the QuickBooks Online Payroll Enhanced, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu and select Employees.
  2. Click on the employee's name.
  3. Select the Employee Details tab, then click the Pencil icon beside Pay.
  4. Click the How often do you pay (employee) ▼ dropdown and choose a payment schedule.
  5.  Hit Done

If you're using the Online payroll( full service, core, premium and elite) you can follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu, select the Employees tab.
  2. Choose the employee's name.
  3. Select Edit employee.
  4. In the How often do you pay [employee]? ▼ dropdown. Then select the pay schedule for the employee moving forward. Or, to create a new pay schedule, select Add new. Fill out the appropriate fields. Then select OK.
  5. Click Done.
