How do I delete a payroll report for a state I have never filed payroll taxes in?

I have 2 reports showing up for MA, but I have never paid a person there or paid payroll taxes there.

Thanks for reaching out to us, @DM461. Allow me to guide you in removing a payroll report for a state you've never filed taxes in QuickBooks Online (QBO)

 

If you're referring to the notifications showing in the Action Needed section of your Payroll Tax Center, you can remove them by deleting the state in your work locations. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Payroll Settings.
  2. Click the pencil icon in the Work Locations section.
  3. Select Edit on the state you want to remove.
  4. Click Delete work location, then Yes to confirm.

 

If you're unable to delete a work location due to its associated transaction, I recommend contacting our payroll support team. They're equipped with the necessary tools to help you achieve your goal.
