I do not have Quickbooks Online - the information I was given before I converted stated this new version would work with Quickbooks for Mac Desktop.

I'll share insight on your query about the conversion process of QuickBooks Online (QBO) to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac, @jrbrinkley.

The first thing you need to do is convert a QBO company to QBDT for Windows. Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QBO account that you want to convert.
  2. Highlight the URL and replace anything after /app/ with exportqbodatatoqbdt.
  3. You'll then see the Export Overview window.
  4. Hit Get Started.
  5. Tap Download tool.
  6. Launch the tool to install it, then press Next.
  7. Accept the terms, then press Next again.
  8. Choose Complete as the type of setup, then hit Next and Install.
  9. Press Finish.

See this article for the complete process: Export and convert your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop. Scroll down and look for Step 3: Prepare file for export and select your data in QuickBooks Online for export to continue.

After that process, open this article to convert a QBDT for Windows file to Mac: Convert a QuickBooks for Windows file to QuickBooks for Mac.

When you've gone through all the steps provided above, I suggest you keep this article for reference: Limitations when you convert from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop. It's a complete list of data in QBO, and how they're converted to QBDT.
