Question

How do I find a payroll liability report for balances due other than taxes? I have 401k, garnishments, health benefits to pay and don't know the balances due.

Good day, @Excel2933.

We can generate a Payroll Tax Liability report for taxes owed since tax payments are processed within QuickBooks Online (QBO) payroll. However, we don't have a specific report for balances due for 401(k), Garnishments, and Health benefits to pay since you would have to process the payment outside of QBO.

However, you can pull up the Payroll detail report to review your employees' paycheck amount, taxes, deductions and contributions which include the 401(k), Garnishments, and Health benefits. Here are the steps to generate the report:

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. In the search field, type "Payroll detail."
  3. Select the report.

I'm adding this article as a reference if you need help managing payroll schedules in QBO: Set up and manage payroll schedules.

Should you need further assistance in running payroll reports in QBO, we're always here in the Community. Stay safe.

This is a feature available in Quickbooks Desktop and is very useful as it used to pay payroll liabilities weekly.  I have submitted my concerns in feedback and hope that it can be made available very soon.
