How do I fix the clergy member that receives a monthly clergy housing check as wages, but it is not showing on the W-2? I use Quickbooks Online.

I'm here to ensure you can include the clergy housing benefits in your Form W-2, cindy. 

 

The information on your W-2 depends on how you set up your workers and their details within the program, including their benefits and other additional pay items. If you're seeing incomplete info, you may have missed some details upon setting them up in the program. 

 

Let me show you how to create a clergy housing item

 

  1. Go to the Payroll menu and choose Employees.
  2. Select the pastor's name, then click Edit beside the Pay types section.
  3. Locate the Additional pay types dropdown, then tick the Clergy Housing (In-Kind) or Clergy Housing (Cash) checkbox.
  4. Enter the amount for both and then hit Save.

 

Then, we can file a corrected Form W-2. This way, we can ensure we're in compliance with the IRS standards and tax regulations. 

 

Afterward, we can print the W-2 if you want to send copies to your employees, for your records or a W-3 to send to your accountant.
