Question

How do I match or record multiple bank withdrawal transactions to one paycheck? I ran payroll for my paychecks, but didn't have the funds to pay them all at once.

During the past year, business slowed. I ran payroll as scheduled for myself and my husband but wouldn't have the entire amount in bank to pay us our full paychecks all at once. So I have multiple withdrawals that I need to match up to a single paycheck. I am reading that you can't match multiple bank transactions to a single expense. So how would I record these in a way that they get matched to the paycheck they belong and all my accounts reconcile?

Thanks for visiting us here, @cclay1.

I'll share the steps on how you can match multiple paychecks with a single expense. You'll want to use the "Find match" option so you select multiple paychecks in your register. Just make sure the total amount of your match is zero.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select the tile for the account you want to review.
  3. In the For Review tab, tap the expense transaction.
  4. Tick the radio-button next to Find match. This will open the Match transaction page where you can choose the multiple transactions you want to match with your expense.
  5. Click Save when done.
