Hello, Nwoodward.

I can assist you with printing a backdated bonus for December 29th, 2023.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can still record a late or backdated paycheck when you pay your employees a bonus. I'll assist you in printing the bonus for December. Proceed to the steps below.

  1. Go to Payroll and click on Employee.
  2. On the right-hand side dropdown menu near Run Payroll, select Bonus Only.
  3.  Check the Add Pay Period option and click Continue.
  4.  Change the Pay Date to December 29th, 2023
  5.  Check the box next to the Employee you want to give a bonus to and add the bonus amount
  6. Click Preview Payroll and review all the information you entered.
  7. When you're ready, click Submit Payroll.
  8.  Change the print setting to Paychecks.
  9. You can now print the paycheck and then Close.

Furthermore, please don't hesitate to contact the support team if the process is unavailable even after following the steps. They will be more than happy to guide you through printing your backdated paychecks and provide alternative solutions to help you get the job done.

Thank you for you reply.  I did all the steps and even with 2 phone calls, you cannot back date a bonus check in a new year.
