Once your states send out the updated SUI, you can add the new tax rate by going to the Payroll Setting. However, if you can't change the current year's rate, send your notice to us and we’ll update the rate for you.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Log in to QuickBooks Online.
  2. Go to Gear , then select Payroll settings.
  3. Next to the state you want to update, select Edit ✎.
  4. In the State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) Setup section, choose Change or add a new rate.
  5. Select or enter any updated surcharge or assessment rates.
  6. Click OK.
