i am new to quickbooks and need help running payroll

Let me provide some information about running payroll in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), mallikarjan. 

 

QBSE is an accounting package that covers the basic features as solopreneur may need as it relates to: 

  • Managing both personal and business accounting task
  • Estimating and paying taxes (both with your state and the IRS)

 

For more details, see the QuickBooks Self-Employed Overview article. The option to run payroll in QBSE is unavailable. However, we have an option to either subscribe to our QuickBooks Desktop Payroll or QuickBooks Online Payroll. This way, we can add your employees and run payroll anytime. Also, QuickBooks offers unique features and discounts (limited time only) on purchasing products.

 

If you wish to transfer subscriptions just convert your QuickBooks Self-Employed account to QuickBooks Online. Once we convert the account, we can't go back to QuickBooks Self-Employed. To turn on the payroll after the conversion, follow these easy steps:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account. 
  2. From the Workers (Payroll) menu, click Employees
  3. Click Get started and select the payroll service of your choice.
