Glad to have you here in the Community, @devonna1.

I'm here to help set up Texas state tax so you can file TX C-3 in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Firstly, you'll need to add the Texas withholding to your employee's profile. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu, then select Employees.
  2. Select the employee from the list.
  3. From the Employment details tab, select Edit.
  4. Add the work location where you’re required to pay State Unemployment Insurance. Then, click Save.
  5. From Tax withholding, select Edit
  6. Go to the State withholding section and choose Texas.
  7. Fill in the necessary information, then click Save.

Once done, let's set up the Texas tax. It’s important to complete the state tax setup if you want us to make your tax payments and file your forms electronically. To do so, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Gear icon, then select Payroll Settings.
  2. In the Texas tax section, click the pencil icon to edit.
  3. Enter the info applicable to the taxes you are required to pay. If you are not required to pay a tax, leave the account number field blank and enter or select 0.00 for any rates.

Lastly, you'll need to sign a new state authorization form so we can pay your Texas taxes and file your TX C-3 form. You’ll see a To Do in your Payroll Overview to e-sign the authorization forms.

You may also want to access your state agency websites. This article will provide links for your state to find details on tax forms, withholdings, unemployment, and other tax, e-file, and pay information: Access state agency websites for payroll.

Fill me in if you have other concerns or follow-up questions about filing state forms in QBO. I'm always here to help.
