Hi there, @bigjohn-nj.

You can switch the tax payment method from electronic to manual through the Payroll Settings. I'll guide you on how.

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon, then click on Payroll Settings.
  3. Go to the Taxes and forms sections, then unmark the box beside Automate taxes and forms.
  4. Choose the I'll pay and file the right agencies through their website or by mail option.
  5. Hit Save, then Done.

After that, you're now ready to pay and file your taxes manually.

If you need additional help while handling your taxes and other payroll entries in the future, you can also review the resources from this link: Help on common payroll topics.

Let me know if you have any other questions while paying your taxes manually. I'm just a post away to help. Have a good one!

The Automate taxes and forms was already unchecked(off)

Currently, I pay Federal payroll taxes thru Quickbooks and pay NJ state taxes from the state website

Will changing the radio button from "I'll initiate payments and filings using QuickBooks"

to "I'll pay and file the tight agencies through their website or by mail"

affect my ability to pay Fed taxes thru QB?
