I have a way to stop direct deposit for your employees, Kendall.

 

To stop direct deposit for your employees in QuickBooks Online, follow these steps:

 

  1. Go to the Payroll tab on the left-hand menu.
  2. Select Employees from the sub-menu.
  3. Locate the employee for whom you want to stop direct deposit and click on their name.
  4. In the employee's profile, scroll down to the Payment Method section and click Edit next to "How do you want to pay this employee?".
  5. Choose the option Paper check or any other payment method you prefer.
  6. Save your changes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

By switching the payment method to "Paper check" or another method, you will effectively stop direct deposit for that employee. Please note that if you have already processed a direct deposit for the current pay period, it is not possible to stop it. Since, we process the transaction day before payday, at 5 PM PT. If they're scheduled for (Friday), you can cancel it until 4:59 PM PT (Thursday).
