Hi there, @dadent0329. I'm here to ensure you can update the SUI rate.

To change the State Unemployment rate, first, you'll have to delete or void the paycheck run in the current year.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Payroll and select Employees.
  2. Click Paycheck list.
  3. Select the paycheck(s) you'd like to delete or void and select Delete or Void.
  4. Select Yes.

After that, update the rate in your payroll settings. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Payroll settings.
  2. Next to the state you want to update, select the Edit ✎ icon.
  3. In the State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) Setup section, select Change or add new rate.
  4. Enter the new rate and its effective date. For most states, the effective date is 1/1. For TN, VT, and NJ, the date is 7/1. If you have already created paychecks with the wrong rate, or need to correct a prior quarter rate, contact us.
  5. If you have a surcharge or assessment tax rate, enter it here as well.
  6. Enter your new rate and its effective date.
  7. Select OK to save your changes.

If you're unable to delete or void, you'll see a message explaining why. Contact us to connect to a payroll expert to void the paycheck. They can also help you with updating the SUI rate.

Here's how:

  1. Click the (?) Help icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Dashboard.
  2. Select Talk to a Human.
  3. Enter a short description of your concern and press Enter.
  4. Click I still need a human.
