To be clear, did you have QuickBooks Payroll prior to July and then transition to a new payroll service?
Your new payroll provider should have entered all of the previous payrolls that were processed through QuickBooks into their system prior to running the first payroll with them. It’s important to do this step to make sure that wage bases and tax information for employees and the employer are correct.
Employees should only receive 1 W-2 from your company UNLESS you EIN changed for some reason, which is very rare.
I would recommend reaching out to your current payroll service to confirm all prior payroll was, in fact, entered.
