Also having trouble.  Trying to update a limit on the payroll item list.  This is the process I am able to do: Edit Payroll Item, Name used in paycheck, Agency for company paid liability, Company tax rates, Taxable compensation, Pre-tax deductions, Finish.  No option to edit the Limit column figure.  I am Admin and the only person to use the software if that matters.

Let me share some information about wage base limits in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.

 

If no limit appears for the payroll item, you can edit the wage base limit. Limits for payroll items such as state and federal taxes can't be edited because it is updated through the payroll tax table.
