I'm here to help you export paychecks from Intuit Online payroll (IOP to QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP), @ENTHI.

You'll have to migrate from IOP so you can seamlessly export your payroll data to QBOP. To do this, you'll have to complete the following processes:

  • Set up your QuickBooks Online (QBO) accounts for payroll data.
  • Set up QuickBooks classes.
  • Set up a connection to QBO.
  • Set up accounts in your IOP account.

To set up a connection to QBO, here's how:

  1. Login to your IOP account.
  2. Go to the Setup tab.
  3. Under the Export heading, select Preference.
  4. Choose QuickBooks Online from the software dropdown list.
  5. We will search for any existing QBO accounts under the current user ID. If we don't find one, you will be asked to log in to your Intuit Account.
  6. Since QBO only accounts don't require security questions, the system may prompt you to select a security question and answer.
  7. If the correct account is found, you can continue with the export process. If multiple accounts are found, you will be prompted to select one.
  8. Next, we will complete the connection process.
  9. Once completed, you can complete the export settings.

To set up accounts in your IOP account, follow these steps:

  1. In the Checking Account box, enter the name of the bank account or select from the drop-down list. This is the account from which you write paychecks.
  2. Select Customize to enter the account names exactly as they appear in QuickBooks or select from the drop-down list.
  3. Specify whether you use QuickBooks classes. These classes must be set up already in QuickBooks.
  4. If classes are selected, you will enter them on the next page after clicking OK at the bottom of this page.
  5. If you want to print checks using QuickBooks, select I will print paychecks using QuickBooks.
  6. Click OK.

For the step-by-step guide, I'd recommend checking out this article: Setup export of IOP data to QuickBooks Online (QBO). It also includes details about what happens when your data is entered into QuickBooks.

Also, I'm adding this article to know what’s new and the difference when you move to QBOP: See what's new with QuickBooks Online Payroll Core, Premium, and Elite. It helps you learn how to use the new features such as Employee self-setup, Auto Payroll, and managing your tax payments and forms.

On top of that, QBO provides payroll reports so you can get a closer look at your business's finances and employees. For the complete list of available reports, you can refer to this article: Run payroll reports.
