How to put W9 information into QB Online?

When I get a W9 form from an independent contractor how do I put the information on QBO as sometimes they have 2 names?

The first two lines of W9

1 Name (as shown on your income tax return). Name is required on this line; do not leave this line blank.

2 Business name/disregarded entity name, if different from above

 

 

Which one do I put on Quickbooks Online while adding new vendors as it has also two fields?

1. Company Name
2. Vendor Display Name

I'm here to share details about entering W9 information in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

Based on the information you've shared above, you can use the Business name (second line from the W-9) in the Company Name field. Then, for the Vendor Display Name field, use the Name shown on your income tax return (first line from the W-9).
