How to set per mile rate

If you're referring to setting up rates per mile in tracking your mileage, it isn't possible to modify it. QuickBooks uses the standard mileage method to estimate your tax deductions, which is set by the IRS. You can refer to the IRS website to check for the latest mileage rates.

If you're referring to setting up per-mile rates for your products & services, there isn't a direct way to add different units of measure in QuickBooks Online. However, there is a workaround that I can share with you. You'll need to use the QTY as your miles and rates.

Here's how:

1. Create an Expense or any transaction.
2. Select your product/services.
3. Input your miles in the QTY textbox and Rates as the amount of dollars per mile.
4. Fill out the rest of the transaction and save it.

Moreover, you can also consider enabling automatic tracking of mileage in QuickBooks Online.
