How to set up supervisors to approve Paid time/Unpaid time off with the mobile app

Our goal is to have employees request time off paid and unpaid from Quickbooks Mobile app.  However, we do not want them to time in/out on the mobile app.  We would then like their supervisors to be able to approve/decline the requests at their laptop computers.  How should we set employees up to do this and how should supervisors be set up to have this capability?

Hello, Hrstar.

I understand that you want employees to be able to request time off through a mobile app and have their supervisor approve it on a laptop or desktop computer. I'll share a way to do this.

If you only have a QuickBooks Online Payroll standalone subscription, there isn't any way to do this. You must have a QuickBooks Time account, which you must then link to your payroll account. If you don't already have an account, you can subscribe to QuickBooks Time.

Here's how:

  1. Go to TSheets.com.
  2. Enter your email address (usually your work e-mail address), and select Try QuickBooks Time free!
  3. Enter your company information, then click Try It FREE For 14 Days!
  4. Select Buy Now, and complete the payment information. This window will display each day you open QuickBooks Time within the trial period. You can add your payment information at any time within that period.
  5. You will receive a welcome email from QuickBooks Time Support. Open the email, and hit Confirm My Email.

If you're unable to see the option to integrate QuickBooks Time to QuickBooks Online Payroll, you can upgrade your payroll account or contact our support team to help you with the integration process.

When everything is set up correctly, you can read the articles listed below to learn how to set up and manage time off in QuickBooks Time:

In addition, I've added this resource to ensure your payroll items are properly mapped in QuickBooks Time: Map QuickBooks payroll items in QuickBooks Time.
