Before that, may I ask if you received an error message when accessing your Online payroll? I appreciate any extra information you can give, and it will help us isolate the issue and provide the best solution.

 

Then, check the status of your payroll if it's active or not by going to the Billing and Subscription section. Let me show you how:

 

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as a primary admin.
  2. Choose Settings ⚙, then Account and settings.
  3. Click Billing & subscription.
  4. Review the information in each section.

 

In the meantime, let's perform some troubleshooting steps to fix this. There are times when the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, which causes some errors or unusual responses. Let's start accessing your account using a different or private browser. You can use either of these shortcut keys:

 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

 

Once you have successfully access your payroll account, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. This is done to speed up the process the next time you do a transaction in QuickBooks Online. Also, an alternative way is to use other compatible browsers.
