Question

I forgot about the holiday on Friday, so I need to pay everyone with a live check and not direct deposit. Is there away to bypass direct deposit & not lose info?

Good morning, @office-gbctruss-

Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the QuickBooks Community. I hope your day is going great!

It will depend on your processing time when you need to cancel a direct deposit. You can delete or void the direct deposit in QuickBooks Online if it has not been processed. I've included some steps to delete or void the deposit below.

Please know if you cannot delete or void, you'll see a message explaining why. If you see this message, you'll need to contact our Payroll Team so an agent can void the direct deposit for you.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Payroll, then Employees.
  2. Select Paycheck list.
  3. Tap on the paycheck(s) you'd like to delete or void, then hit Delete or Void.
  4. Click Yes.

Once you've canceled the direct deposit, here's how you can create a live check:

  1. Go to Payroll, then Employees.
  2. Select Run payroll.
  3. Click on Direct deposit next to the employee's name, then switch the pay method to Paper check.
  4. Preview and submit your Payroll.

For additional information about this process, check out the help articles I've included below.

Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any follow-up questions or concerns. I'm always around to lend a hand. Take care!
