Welcome to the Community, sunny. I’ll make sure you’ll be able to correct your payroll pay period in QuickBooks.

Yes, you can modify your payroll if you've processed it through a paper check. You can delete and recreate it to correct the pay period. Follow the outlined steps below to do it:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to your Payroll menu, then choose Employees.
  3. Click Paycheck list.
  4. You can use the Filter option to locate the paycheck quickly.
  5. Select the transaction, then click Delete under the Action column.
  6. Tap Delete or Yes to prompt the message.
  7. Go back to the Employees page and recreate the paycheck. This time, make sure to pick the right period before submitting.

Otherwise, you’ll want to contact our Payroll Correction team to accomplish it. Only our support can make changes to your direct deposit payroll. They can also help ensure that every detail is accurate.

Here’s how:

  1. Select the Help (?) menu.
  2. In the Assistant window, type in “Talk to a human” in the field.
  3. Enter “Wanted to change the pay period for a submitted payroll,” then go to the Contact option.
