It's easy to update the SUI rate in QuickBooks Online Payroll. Let me help you.
Follow these steps:
Go to the Gear icon, then select Payroll settings.
Select the state you want to update.
Click Change or add new rate in the State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) Setup section.
Enter your new rate and its effective date. Tap OK to save your changes.
If you already created a check with the wrong rate, I suggest you reach out to our Payroll Experts regarding the adjustments. This may result in an overpayment or owe extra tax money to the state and you need to make another tax payment.
If you're a QuickBooks Online Payroll Full Service plan subscriber, you'll want to contact our Payroll Team so they can update it on your behalf. If you're still unable to contact them by phone, you'll want to try our chat.
Click the (?) Help icon and enter Talk to a human (then type it again when prompted).
When asked by the bot, enter "SUI Rate".
Select I still need a human, then proceed with Contact us or Get help from a human.
Choose either Chat or Callback.
