I use paper checks.I deleted a payroll check and I tried to recreate it in the correct account with no luck.QB wants me to use a date closer to present date, that will leave the paycheck in the wrong quarter. What can I do?

Hello there, @rayburnstireanda.

I appreciate you for trying to isolate the issue. Allow me to assist you further so we can successfully recreate the payroll check to the correct account.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO),  once the paycheck was created, we're no longer able to change the bank account. What we can do is delete the paycheck and recreate it.

Since QuickBooks won't allow you to recreate one, I recommend running an unscheduled payroll. We need to use the current date for your paychecks (per the IRS law of constructive receipt).  You can check out this article for more details about this: Create a late payroll (backdate paychecks).

If for an instance the date required by QuickBooks doesn't match with the prior quarter, you may need to create a Journal Entry.  Before doing so, I suggest consulting with your accountant first for guidance. You can check on this link to find an accountant if you don't have one: Find an accountant

I also added this link you can check if you need to run payroll-related reports: Run payroll reports in QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know if there's anything you need help with. I'm just a reply away. Have a great day!
