I have Quickbooks Online Premium Payroll for my business. Does Quickbooks automatically send out W2s to my employees on my behalf with this subscription?

If you use QuickBooks Online Payroll Core, Premium, or Elite with automatic tax payments and filings turned off, you'll need to e-file your W-2s. After you file your W-2 forms, the employees’ W-2 copies will be available in Workforce 24-48 hours. Once they completed the setup, they will get an email telling them that their W-2s are available.

Please note that even when you electronically file W-2 forms with the SSA, you will still need to print and distribute copies to your employees. This way, they can also file with the federal, state, city, or local tax return.
