Question

I have selected in the setup, to pay without using quickbooks. How do I make the pay overdue tax reminders go away?

I use an accounting firm to pay my state and federal taxes. I don't want to be constantly reminded of them on quickbooks.

Hello, dustin-manningfa.

Let me help provide some insights about clearing the tax notifications in QuickBooks Online.

Tax notifications alert you that your payroll tax forms or payments needs to file.

To remove the notifications, you'll need to file and pay them. However, if you've already paid them outside QuickBooks, you'll have to record these to close the tax notification. To do this, let's enter prior tax payments in QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. From the Taxes tab, select Payroll tax.
  2. Click Add payment.
  3. Enter the necessary information.
  4. Click OK.

I'll leave this article that has detailed instructions about the process: Record prior tax payments.

Also, when you're ready to close your books to prevent unwanted changes before filing, you can check this article: Close your books.
