Question

I have tried to set up direct deposit with a client but QB keeps telling me there was an error on their end and to try again shortly. Any solution to this issue?

Hello, jdealba-3d-gmail.

I'll lay down the solutions to help you fix the error message when setting up your client's direct deposit.

This error is likely caused by a cache-related issue. When a browser's cache storage is full or corrupted, it can cause several issues in QuickBooks. One way to rule this out is to use an incognito window:

  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N.
  • Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Safari (new versions): Command Shift N

From there, log in to your QuickBooks account then set up the Direct Deposit feature again. When you're able to do so, go back to the normal browser then clear the cache. This will remove the cache data that's causing the error message.

Close out any browser processes to complete the steps.

Though, another thing you can do is to use other supported browsers (another way to rule out any browser-related issues).

If you're still getting the issue, then you'll want to check your client's direct deposit information. Incorrect details can also cause the error message.
