I just switched over the online version. I am trying to run my payroll and used preprinted checks on the desktop version , how do I set the online version up to do this.

Welcome to QuickBooks Online (QBO), @amvets159. I'm here to guide you on how to set up preprinted checks in QBO.

To print on pre-printed checks in QBO, we need to start by configuring your paycheck printing preferences. Follow the steps below.

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Payroll Settings.
  2. In the Printing section, select the Pencil icon.
  3. Select Paychecks on QuickBooks-compatible check paper.
  4. Choose between Print 1 pay stub or Print 2 pay stubs, then select Align my printer to set up the alignment.
  5. Select Save, then Done.

Once done, here's how to run payroll:

  1. Navigate to the left-hand corner and click Payroll, then choose Employees.
  2. Next, click on Run Payroll
  3. Review the Pay period and Pay date.
  4. Select the employees you'd like to pay.
  5. Click Preview payroll, then Submit payroll.
  6. Finally, click Print pay stub and then Close.
