I'm self employed and the set up listed me as an employee. How can I correct the set up and remove myself as an employee?

I can assist you with deleting yourself as an employee in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @thomasjhill213-g.

 

We can delete an employee’s profile as long as it doesn’t have any paycheck history. Otherwise, you’ll have to change their status to inactive from payroll.

 

Follow these steps to delete an employee:

 

  1. Go to the Payroll menu and select the Employees tab.
  2. Select the employee's name. If the employee isn't on the list, select All employees from the Active Employees dropdown.
  3. Click Edit Employee.
  4. Select Delete employee.
  5. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.

 

To make an employee inactive from payroll, follow the steps outlined below:

 

  1. Go to the Payroll menu, then Employees.
  2. Select the employee's name.
  3. Click Edit ✎ on the Employment section.
  4. Under Status, choose Not On PayrollEdit their info and select Done.
