Question

I'm trying to run payroll and it's telling me to enter hours or pay info for a specific salary employee. The salary information is there, I paid them last week.

Hi, @cpaderick-apxtra. I'd be glad to help you sort this out.

This behavior can sometimes be caused by the browser's overtime collection of data from frequent page visits. To rectify this, let's do some troubleshooting steps.

You can start by pulling up your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account in a private browser or an incognito. Depending on the browser you're using, you can use these keyboard shortcuts:

  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Then try running payroll again. If it works without issues, return to your regular browser and clear the cache. This will refresh the system and remove older data that causes viewing and performances issue. If not, I'd recommend using other supported browsers. The current one you're using may have a temporary issue with QuickBooks.

If you're getting the same result even after clearing the cache, can you tell me the exact error message? You may provide a screenshot as well for us to get a better picture of your issue.

Moreover, to view helpful information about your business finances and employee details, I'd recommend checking out this link: Run payroll reports. It also includes steps about customizing, printing, and marking them as your favorite.

Please keep me posted if you have further questions about running payroll in QBO. I'd be glad to help you out. Take care always.
