Question

I mistakenly withdrew SUI for an employee from the wrong state. It was only .36 but it is showing up on their W-2. How do I correct this mistake?

Let me share details as to how you can correct SUI information on employees' W-2s in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll, @usercheriesc3.

When you've withdrew employee's SUI from the incorrect state, you're unable to correct it on your end. With this, I'd recommend contacting our Payroll Care team. They have the tools to create a payroll adjustment and correct the amount on the employee's W2.

To do this, here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QBO company.
  2. Go to the Help (?) menu.
  3. Select the Search tab.
  4. Click the Contact Us button.
  5. Enter a brief description of your concern in the What can we help you with? field.
  6. Select Continue.
  7. Choose a way to connect with us (Send a message or Get a callback). Make sure to initiate contact during support hours

Also, to learn more about when and how to submit your W-2 forms to the federal and state agencies and answer the most commonly asked questions about them, I'd recommend checking out these articles:

Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have other payroll concerns and questions about managing employee transactions in QBO Payroll. Drop a comment below, and I'll gladly help. Take care, and I wish  you continued success, @usercheriesc3.
