Question

I moved payroll from one QB account to another QB account. Do I still need to pay the taxes due on the old QB acct? My 2023 payroll info was brought to the new account.

Hi there, @user17248.

I'd be glad to help you with your payroll concern.

If you're done paying your taxes last year, what we're going to do is manually enter prior payroll into your new QuickBooks account for tracking purposes.

The following instructions will walk you through the process:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as the primary admin.
  2. Go to Payroll, and then select Overview.
  3. If you haven’t already, add all of your employees paid this year. Include all employees that no longer work for you. Make sure to set up each pay item, deduction, contribution, and tax showing on their pay stubs or reports.
  4. Then, set up your tax information.
  5. After that, select Start next to Add your payroll history.

You can use these resources for additional information. The other article gives payroll report lists that you can generate in the program:

Lastly, I'll share our taxes articles to further assist you. They have guides and pointers to help you pay your due taxes and file your payroll forms for this year's tax season. Click this link to go there: QuickBooks Online Payroll Taxes topic

I'll listen to any other concerns you might have for QuickBooks Online. You can post a new thread or reply here with the details. I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
