Hello, milly6180.

To sort this out, we can go to the Employee's profile and edit your Employee's information. Here's how:

  1. Go to Payroll on the left-hand menu, then Employees
  2. Click on the Employee's name to view their profile.
  3. In Employee details, navigate to the Pay tab. Press on the pencil icon to edit the tax information.
  4. Locate Section 2: What are [employee]'s employment details? then drop-down arrow and select the correct work location.
  5. Press Done.

Additional details of this feature are in this article: Set up and assign a new work location. Scroll down a bit, and you'll find a list of frequently asked questions, along with their answers. Also, Changing a primary state article covers the complete information about updating the employee's tax information and assigning a new primary new location to workers.

Reach out to me if you need further assistance in managing payroll in QBO. I’m more than happy to help. Have a great day ahead.
