Question

I paid my estimated taxes and categorized it as 'federal estimated taxes', but the payment does not show up in my tax report/quarterly taxes summary? Thank you.

Hello there, @dkissane.

I'm here to help make sure your transaction shows up accordingly on your report in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

Good work in choosing the federal estimated taxes category while categorizing your downloaded estimated taxes payment transaction. This ensures the amount of payment made will be calculated and included in your tax summary report.

Now there are times your browser is full of frequently accessed page resources causing websites, like QBSE, to act weirdly. And this can be the reason why the payment transaction in question is not showing on your tax report.

Let's work together by performing a few troubleshooting steps starting by logging in to your QBSE account using a private browser. To use a private or incognito browser mode, here's how:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P
  • Edge: Ctrl Shift + N

If this works, it means you need to clear your browser's cache so the system can start fresh and you're now able to see the estimated tax payment listed as one of the transactions in your tax summary report. But if you get the same result while using a private browser, let's switch to different supported browsers instead.

Now that you're transactions are listed in your report correctly, kindly read all related references in this article to make sure your account is calculating your estimated taxes without any room for errors: Automatically Estimate your Income Tax in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
