Question

I received a notice from the IRS that I need to pay my Form 941 semi-weekly. When I look at QB settings, it shows that I'm doing this. How do I know if this is correct?

Welcome to the Community, @don116.

I'm here to provide information about the payroll tax payment schedule in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

As a semiweekly depositor, your due date depends on the day of the week you pay your employees.

  • If your paycheck date is Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, your taxes are due the following Wednesday.
  • If your paycheck date is Saturday, Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday, your taxes are due Friday of the same week.

To make sure that you have correctly set up your payroll tax payment schedule, here is how:

  1. On your QBO account, go to the Gear icon, then select Payroll Settings.
  2. In the Federal tax section, click on Edit.

  3. On the Federal tax info page, make sure you have entered and selected the correct information.

  4. Once ready, click on Save.

For detailed information, kindly visit: Change your payroll tax payment schedule.
