Question

I subscribe to QB SE w/TT monthly. I'm completing my taxes for 2022, and TT is not showing credit for my SE federal and state tax returns.

I do this every year and haven't had issues until now.   In the past it always shows the charges for returns waived when it's time to pay.

Thank you for notifying us of your experience, herbdowdy. It's my top priority to help you complete your taxes for 2022.

If you have sent your accounting data from QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), but it is not showing up in TurboTax, you may have to complete a few tasks before the export can finish.

First, start the export process from QuickBooks Self-Employed. If you initiated the export from TurboTax Self-Employed, sign out and sign back into QuickBooks Self-Employed. Ensure not to log into any other QuickBooks product while exporting, as this can cross wires and block data.

Once done, complete the tax checklist in QBSE.

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
  2. Select Home.
  3. Tap on the Tax checklist link next to your profile icon.
  4. Select a task on the list. It takes you to the task so you can finish reviewing your data.
  5. Finish the tasks on the tax checklist.

After you export everything from QBSE, TurboTax will prompt you to complete a questionnaire. It covers basic tax and business information. Complete the entire questionnaire in order before doing anything else in TurboTax Self-Employed. Avoid navigating away from the questionnaire, or you may stop the export.

You can also review the resources from this article to bring your data successfully: QuickBooks-Self Employed data won't transfer to TurboTax Self-Employed.

If you have followed the steps and the information has not been exported, I recommend contacting our QBSE Support to examine this further.

Additionally, you may run through the resources from these materials for more tips on getting your self-employed tax info into TurboTax:
