Question

I used to be able to manually add time sheets in QB online. Now it is only possible to add time if employees are enrolled in QB time. Is there a work around for this?

I have some suggestions for actions you can take to restore your system to its previous state, @accounts563.

Online platforms such as QuickBooks Online (QBO) rely on the browser's cache to operate efficiently. When this becomes corrupted, it can cause the platform to malfunction and exhibit unexpected behaviors.

As the first troubleshooting solution, I’d recommend accessing your QBO account through an incognito or private window. Incognito Mode is an online privacy feature that prevents your browsing history from being stored. Here are the shortcut keys below for quick navigation:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P

Once logged in, go to the + New button and select the Timesheet option. Then, try to add time from there. If it works without opening QuickBooks Time, return to your regular browser and clear its cache. Doing this helps the program to run smoothly. You can also use other supported browsers as an alternative.

The program provides you the flexibility to generate statements to gain insights about your employees and business. If you’re interested to learn more about it and other report features, feel free to access this reference: Run reports in QBO.

Keep me posted if you need additional assistance managing your time entries. I’ll be here to help while ensuring you can accomplish them successfully.

Hello there, @accounts563. I appreciate you for following the steps provided by my colleague. Let me help you get the support you need.

Currently, we have an ongoing investigation about adding a new timesheet that will route you to the QuickBooks Time page.

I recommend contacting our Customer Care Support team so you'll be added to the list of affected users. This way, you'll receive email updates on the case's status and be notified once it's been resolved. I've added the steps below:

  1. Tap the (?) Help icon.
  2. Click on Talk to a Human.
  3. Enter a short description of your concern and press Enter.
  4. Select I still need a human.
  5. Choose Contact Us to connect with our live support.
  6. Select Messaging or Get a callback.

Also, to get a closer look at your business finances and employees, QuickBooks provides a variety of payroll reports. For the complete list and steps on how you can access, customize, and print these reports, I encourage you to check out this article: Run payroll reports.

Let me know in the comments if you have other concerns about managing employees in QBO. I'm always around to help. Take care, and I wish you continued success.
