Do I need to set up Quickbooks Online Payroll if I am doing my payroll instead of Quickbooks doing it in order to receive state and federal law updates?

Payroll management in QuickBooks is a vital component for businesses of all sizes, offering a streamlined way to handle employee compensation, taxes, and compliance, Kathy. I'll provide further details about this below.

Setting up QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP) is necessary if you choose to do payroll manually.

QuickBooks always complies with state and federal law updates. The main difference is that if you don't use full-service payroll, you'll need to set up payroll items, run payroll, and pay/file taxes, but when it comes to tax compliance, QB always ensures that it complies with regulations.
