I’ve got the steps to delete your tax payment, godless25. I’ll be glad to discuss this in detail to ensure your financial records remain accurate.

The ability to delete a payment in QuickBooks depends on certain conditions to ensure accurate financial records and to prevent any accidental errors. You can delete a payment if it meets the following:

  • It was recorded manually (not through electronic means).

  • It has not been processed electronically.

  • For federal payments, the payment date must be at least two banking days prior to the scheduled date, before 5 PM PST.

  • For state payments, the date must be before the designated lead time (which varies by state).

If you manually recorded the tax payment you made outside of QuickBooks, you can be able to delete the payment. Here's how:

  1. Go to Taxes, then Payroll tax.

  2. Click on Payment history.

  3. Choose the tax payment you wish to delete. Adjust the date range if necessary.

  4. Select Delete payment. If you don’t see the option to delete, the payment cannot be removed.

  5. Confirm by selecting Yes.
