Question

If I agree to the year-end filing with quickbooks, cleans up my books, do I have to submit my taxes through this too or can I still have my own accountant do them?

Let me share some information about year-end filing in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

If you are referring to payroll taxes and filings, you have the flexibility to choose how you want them to be handled. Just select your option below to see the tasks you'll need to complete:

  • Have QuickBooks do them automatically
  • You do them electronically through QuickBooks (use e-pay and e-file)
  • You do them yourself (manually)

You can check out this article for more details about options to pay and file your 941, 944, 943, state, and local taxes using QuickBooks: Set up QuickBooks Online Payroll to pay and file your payroll taxes and forms.

If you want your accountant to file taxes for you, you'll need to invite them by following the steps below:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as a primary admin.
  2. Go to the Gear icon on the top menu , then select Manage users.
  3. Choose the Accountants or Accounting firms tab.
  4. Enter your accountant’s email address, then click Invite.
