If I got a refund last year and owed no taxes-do I have to make estimated tax payments this year?

Hey there, areshahanglin.

I'm here to share some insights about your tax payment concern.

If you have Spending records for your transactions as Estimated Taxes.  I suggest contacting the IRS through this link: https://www.irs.gov/help/contact-your-local-irs-office. They can help confirm if you need to make an estimated tax payment.

To help you locate that transaction you've marked as Estimated Taxes. I'll show you how:

  1. Go to Transactions.
  2. On the transaction page click  Type drop-down to filter the transactions.
  3. Choose Spending option then select the Estimated taxes.

I'd suggest reaching out to a tax advisor for guidance on better ways of handling this situation.

You can also pay the taxes electronically by going directly to eftps.gov or within QuickBooks Self-Employed. For detailed steps, see the Make payments online section through this article: Estimated Taxes.

You can also refer to the Pay Federal Estimated Quarterly Taxes article for additional information.

I'm always here if you need help with your transactions. Have a good day!
