If you did payroll and accidentally debited the operating account instead of the payroll account, what journal entry would you use to correct it?

You can just click on each check and change the bank at the top. It will give you a warning, but at least your "detail" will be in the correct location. Plus, it will be easier to reconcile, especially if you wrote checks.
