Question

Illinois Paid Leave

Illinois has a new law in 2024 that all employees accrue paid leave.  Each employee is required to wait 90 days to use it.  Is there somewhere in Quickbooks Desktop payroll that I can restrict paying out paid leave before 90 days?

Hello there, @clang7060.

I am here to share some insights about restricting payout for paid leave before 90 days in QuickBooks Desktop.

Currently, there's no option to restrict payout for paid leave in QBDT. However, you can inform your employees that under the new law of Illinois they won't be able to use their paid leave.

Furthermore, you can visit this article for your reference in setting up QuickBooks Payroll to track paid leave in Illinois: Set up Illinois Paid Leave.

Come back to this post if you have other concerns or follow-up questions regarding the implemented law of Illinois about paid leave. I'll be here to lend a helping hand. Have a good one!

Thank you for your reply!  Hopefully this feature can be implemented by QuickBooks in the near future.
