Hi there, info1746.

Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. I'll be sharing troubleshooting details to ensure you'll be able to export your payroll data smoothly.

To start with, I reccomend checking/making sure the Export Preferences is set up on your Payroll Settings in QuickBooks Online (QBO). This is to ensure that everything is accurate and avoid any issues.

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then choose Payroll Settings.
  2. Click the Pencil icon next to Export
  3. Choose QuickBooks Online and tap Continue
  4. Select the company you want to export into and choose the accounts for each wage expense or liability.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the setup.

After that, you can now export again your payroll data. Let me show you how.

  1. Go back to the Payroll settings page.
  2. Choose Export transactions in the Export section.
  3. Click Export.

If the issue continues to occur, I suggest checking the Download folder on your computer to verify if the file/checks are already saved when exporting your payroll transactions.

If the same thing happens, I suggest contacting our Customer Support Team. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and investigate what's causing this issue. You may send a message via chat, call us at a time convenient to you, or we’ll get in touch with you instead. To ensure we address your concern.
