import spec from your QB Online - Hours for Payroll

Hello Friendly QBO Community,

 

After attempting to use QB Time and learning the product cannot do what the salesperson said it would do, we are on the hunt for a different timekeeping/scheduling solution.

 

Is there a template that shows the import spec from QB Online?  We want to be able to import hours by code to pay through QB Online Payroll.

Hello there, @Simeon. I'm here to share some information about importing hours in QuickBooks Online.

Currently, there's no template showing the import specs in QuickBooks Online Payroll that enables you to import hours by code. However, you can look for a third-party app that integrates with QuickBooks in our QuickBooks App Store.

Here's how:
 

  1. Go to QuickBooks Online App Store.
  2. If you don't know what specific app you're looking for, go to the search bar and type in the keyword or the transaction you're going to do for your business.
  3. Then click on the magnifying glass icon to search and browse for any suggested apps.
     

If you want to learn more about the app, including contact details and support information, you can click on the app that provides services that are relevant to your business.

Any questions about the integrated app in your Online account should be directed to the app's third-party provider.

Hello,

 

Please confirm that QB Online does not allow direct import and a 3rd party platform has to be used.

Currently, importing hours to QuickBooks Online is unavailable. Fiat Lux - ASIA and GebelAlainaM provided a great option you'll want to consider.


 The App Center has all kinds of third-party applications to choose from. Get a better comparison of these apps and see if one of them meets your needs.

 

For service code, only allows you to assign one workers compensation code to each employee, which typically is their main line of work. If an employee needs an additional Worker's Compensation code assigned to hours worked, you can edit and add the code manually to the paycheck. You just need to make sure that the rate won't change for two different codes.

 

Just a heads-up, setting up a maximum allowed accrued hours on your employees' sick policy automatically stops QuickBooks in accruing hours when they reach the limit. Though, it's not set up as a per year feature. It will just stop when it reached 24 hours.
